FAQs

Q. Do I need to stay with my student?

A: That is entirely up to you.  You are welcome to stay, and you are welcome to drop off. We do hope kids will transition to being independent in which sometimes we may just ask you to hang out a bit away from the classroom if independence is the mutual goal.

Q. Does my student have to do all the classes in the day or can we do just one class?

A: You may do as few as half a day, but up to four full days. You choose. At the same time, we highly encourage for the student's benefit that they have a block of classes back-to-back to get the most out of the experience and allow for more opportunities for friendship building.  All students will join us at lunch time to allow social time.  Our schedule is designed with the idea that our "core classes" are taught in the morning and our larger age range "community classes" are in the afternoon.

Q. Is Wild Roots Learning Center a peanut free school?

A. No, we allow students to bring whatever they wish to eat. We discourage food sharing and supervise lunch time.  When students will be bringing treats to share for a birthday for example, we do try to keep allergen free treats for those who may not be able to eat what is brought (however we cannot always guarantee we will have them).

Helpful Hints:

  • Please send a bag or backpack to school with your child so they have some way of transporting all their creations.

  • We are outside most days rain/shine.  We believe there is no bad weather, only not the right clothing. When it is cold, layers are ideal. As it warms up, please consider putting sunscreen on your child prior to coming and send them with a refillable water bottle.

  • Check the collection of student work weekly for your child's work, especially the no name folder in the front.
