Camp Wild
Welcome to our 6th summer of friendship, adventure and Fun!

Camp Wild at Wild Roots is an award winning summer day camp for kids ages 4-12 (with counselor assistant opportunities for kids 13-18). We are located in the heart of Folsom, California under one of the oldest trees in town, and amongst our community garden. With a focus on outdoor fun, creativity, and personal growth, it’s the perfect way for kids to explore, learn, and make new friends. Our camp inspires campers to try new activities, build independence, make friends and take home memories that will last a lifetime.
Camp Wild is designed to promote social-emotional learning in a tech-free environment (leave your technology at home ). Our program helps campers build confidence, grow independence, forge friendships and develop important 21st century skills. Camp Wild proudly offers a different theme each week and camp days are full of self-directed exploration, learning, social emotional development, fun and usually a bit of a mess!

We believe a quality summer camp experience provides education, challenge, achievement and inclusivity. Our unique atmosphere allows all children to learn in a fun and safe environment that encourages independence while nurturing lasting friendships.

Our camps focus on activities and games that create a sense of community, enable our campers to make new friends and take home memories that will last a lifetime.

We welcome campers ages 4 to 12 (13-17 year olds can participate as a junior counselor) to participate in our full day from 9AM to 1pm and this year Camp Wild is offering extended day options until 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. (except for the second week as we celebrate Juneteenth)​

CAMP WILD 2026
Space Academy
June 8-12
Blast off for a week of cosmic adventures! Young astronauts build and launch real rockets, create glowing galaxy jars, hunt for meteorites in the garden, and walk a to-scale solar system across campus. End with an epic water-rocket countdown. Pure wonder, zero screens!
Color Wars
June 15-18 (no camp June 19)
Get ready for a splash of creativity at Color Wars Summer Camp! This vibrant camp is all about having fun with color and art. Campers dive into exciting art projects, from painting and tie-dying to colorful challenges and games like the legendary Color Pendulum. Whether it’s experimenting with different mediums or creating big, bold masterpieces, every day promises new ways to express creativity. Join us for a week of fun, laughter, and colorful adventures where imagination takes the lead!
Make your Own Magic
June 22-26
Step into a world of enchantment at Make Your Own Magic Summer Camp! This whimsical camp is perfect for kids who love all things magical. Each day is filled with exciting activities inspired by unicorns, mermaids, fairies, and magicians. Campers will create their own potions, craft magical wands, and learn the art of spellbinding tricks. With plenty of imaginative fun, we’ll bring dreams to life as we dive into a world of fantasy and wonder. Get ready to create your own magic and make unforgettable memories!
Party in the USA
June 29-July 3
​Pack your bags for a cross-country adventure at Party in the USA Summer Camp! This fun-filled camp takes campers on a virtual road trip across America, where they'll "visit" different states and experience the unique culture, food, music, and activities each one has to offer. From exploring the beaches of California to the lively festivals of New Orleans, every day brings a new destination to celebrate. Get ready to party your way across the USA with exciting games, crafts, and fun surprises at every stop!
Flavors around the World
July 6-10
Embark on a global feast quest at Flavors Around the World Summer Camp! This delicious adventure takes campers around the world without leaving our garden. Harvest fresh ingredients and cook real dishes like Mexican salsas, Japanese onigiri, Indian chaat, and Hawaiian poke bowls. Stamp passports, drum world rhythms, and cool off with international water games. A tasty celebration of culture, creativity, and kitchen confidence!
How its Made
July 13-17
Peek behind the factory curtain at How It’s Made Summer Camp! Campers become inventors as they press wildflower paper, melt crayons in the sun, churn garden-herb butter, make homemade soap, and build wild contraptions from recycled materials. End with a Friday Invention Convention showcase. Curiosity meets creation in this hands-on maker week!
Lights, Camera, Science!
July 20-24
​Get ready for an epic cinematic adventure at Lights, Camera, Science! Summer Camp! Live blockbuster worlds—no screens needed! Daily themes include Jurassic Jungle eruptions, Enchanted Kingdom potions and fire-breathing dragons, Superhero Headquarters stunts and exploding paint battles, Galactic Saga lightsaber rockets, and a Hollywood Finale with 30-bottle geysers and exploding cities. Lights, camera, action—it's time for science like a movie!
Planet Protectors
July 27-31
Prepare for an adventure in the great outdoors at Outdoor Survival Skills & Wild Crafting Summer Camp! Campers will learn essential survival skills like building shelters, tying knots, identifying edible plants, and crafting useful items from natural materials, while cooking quesadillas on sticks. Through hands-on challenges and games, kids gain confidence to thrive in nature and explore the wild side of our own backyard.
Outdoor Survival Skills & Wild Crafting
August 3-7

August 10-14
Step back to simpler times at Roots Homestead Summer Camp, where kids discover the joys of self-sufficiency and farm life! Tend the garden, collect eggs from our chickens, grind wheat for flatbread, press fresh cider, and weave lavender wands. Through hands-on activities, they’ll connect with the earth, create their own masterpieces, and gain a new appreciation for nature and sustainability. A gentle, joyful summer rooted in tradition!
